A power divider is a passive microwave device used to distribute the input power to multiple output ports. Its main function is to split one input signal into two or more output signals with the same amplitude and phase, to achieve signal distribution and reuse. The application of the power divider is not limited to signal distribution, but also includes signal reception, transmission, modulation, and demodulation.

A power divider can also be used as a combiner. The power divider/combiner completes the distribution and combination of power, detection, sampling of signals, isolation of signal sources, and measurement of sweep frequency reflection coefficient.
